Who We Are

Since the 1970’s, Canaweld’s founder, Dr. Mostafa Noroozian has been actively involved in the welding industry. With an MBA, a background in electrical and industrial engineering, Dr. Noroozian has completed many courses from different countries for manufacturing, increasing efficiency and standardization of welding machines.

During his time studying and working with welding standards, a connection with IEC was made. He is a member of the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC), which is the world’s leading organization that prepares and publishes International Standards for all electrical, electronic and related technologies. The IEC is one of three global sister organizations (IEC, ISO, ITU) that develop International Standards for the world.

When appropriate, IEC cooperates with ISO (International Organization for Standardization) or ITU (International Telecommunication Union) to ensure that International Standards fit together seamlessly and complement each other. Joint committees ensure that International Standards combine all relevant knowledge of experts (in Canada, Dr. Noroozian is one of the experts) working in related areas.

In the early 1980’s, Dr. Noroozian realized that there weren’t any welding machine producers in Canada. With his vast experience from back home and here in Canada on how to build welding machines, materials and testing, the decision to start a manufacturing facility was birthed. Canaweld started to manufacture very simple stick welding machines then later moved to producing high quality TIG welding, MIG welding and now to multi-process welding machines.

Canaweld is at the forefront of the welding industry. Currently we are working on a programmable machine with software, which can be updated at any time and from a remote location if required. The new software can be transferred to the machine by email and any user can download this update and use the new updated machine. This great technology will make it possible to update a part of the machine without changing the part or returning the machine to our company. This will be something that we are going to launch in the near future.

Canaweld products are amongst the best in the world in terms of quality. The materials used in our machines are the best available and each machine comes with a 3-year warranty. Our test procedure is very strict and our satisfaction measurement is higher than the required standard. If the machine has to be tested in 40 degrees we test ours in 50 degrees. That way, we are sure that our machine will function even in countries where the temperature is very high. Only when a machine passes all our tests, is it packaged and shipped.
